Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Officer (AU Account)

We are looking for an Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Officer (AU Account) who will be responsible for the day-to-day finance operations of our Australian-based client.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounts Payable

• Performing the accounts payable and finance support functions
• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
• Coding and processing of purchase requisition and matching of invoices to purchase orders
• Scanning and attaching invoices in accounting system
• Producing weekly and monthly payment proposals
• Processing journals, monthly accruals and prepayments
• Reconciling statements and resolving differences
• Issuing customer queries and overdue letters
• Preparing workpapers and investigating items and accounts

Accounts Receivable

• Preparation of invoices and statements to be promptly sent to clients and ensures that gathered data is correct, accurate and reliable
• Assist with enquiries from debtors in relation to money received, as well as the accurate and secure banking of monies
• A/R journal control and reconciliation
• Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions
• Posts revenues by verifying and entering transactions form lock box and local deposits
• Updates receivables by totaling unpaid invoices
• Maintains records of invoices, debits, and credits
• Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, trade promotions, customer service departments, and from customers
• Resolves valid or authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries
• Resolves invalid or unauthorized deductions by following pending deductions procedures
• Resolves collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, credit line; coordinating contact with collections department
• Summarizes receivables by maintaining invoice accounts; coordinating monthly transfer to accounts receivable account; verifying totals; preparing report

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Liaising with suppliers and internal staff
• Any other task/duty as directed by client/management

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s/College Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent
• At least 2 years of relative work experience as an accounts payable / accounts receivable specialist, preferably for an Australian client
• Proficient in accounts payable module of accounting packages (preferably Microsoft AX and SAP)
• Highly analytical, systematic and works with highest degree of integrity
• Detail-oriented and can multitask with strong administrative skills
• Self-starter and able to work independently or with a team
• Proven ability to communicate in English, both written and oral
• A commitment to client service and a flexible can-do attitude to respond to client and business needs
• Must be accurate, energetic, enthusiastic, and driven
• High attention to detail and  very organized
• Must be willing to work in Makati / BGC in an early morning shift (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
