The growth rate is expanding rapidly, thanks to the terrific efforts of many of you. We thank you for your patience while our IT and Marketing Departments have been working hard to improve the website and the tools for you. We have listened to your comments and suggestions and have incorporated many into our ever improving platform.

December, normally a slow month, is when we really started seeing a substantial growth spurt. The number of new active projects was up 19% over November. But, the donation volume for the same period was up a whopping 65% over November. Was that just a fluke? Not at all...with 7 days left in January, new projects are 19% greater than December's and donations are up 59%.

Ninety days ago, the majority of the projects were in the United States, but today, 75% of our new growth is coming from outside the U.S. and already more than 50% of all projects are non-U.S. with huge growth taking place in Europe, India, the Philippines, and New Zealand.

Prepaid Debit Cards for receiving your funds! Finally, they are about to be a reality. Unfortunately we announced that we had a solution back in December, but that company failed to deliver as promised which caused us great embarrassment. We signed a contract with a new debit card provider last week and their IT personell have met with ours and they expect to have the interface between our computers fully integrated this week. We have been told that cards should begin shipping as early as this next week.

New Policy for Security and Fraud Prevention. The larger we$hare becomes, the more frequent will be the attacks from scammers and fraudsters. Already we have had several instances of cardholders calling their banks to dispute the charges on their credit/debit cards. The reasons for the disputes included misunderstandings, inducements by referrers, unauthorized use of cards and even some serious scammers with stolen credit cards.

You, of course, understand that when a person uses a credit/debit card to fund their step up and make donation to you, 100% of the funds are instantly credited to your wallets. When chargebacks do occur, they have to be debited back against the accounts that received them. Working closely with our legal counsel and our credit card processors, we have come up with a solution that we believe will control, if not totally eliminate further abuses.
