This position is primarily responsible for ensuring storate space availability and disk space error free batch processing and providing first level problem determination and resolution
Responsibilities
1. Accept / review / analyze / process batch turnovers - UAT / PROD for IDCAMS and SEQDS
2. Initialize / re-initialize DASDs and clean-up those for pullout
3. Process ACF2 users requests for DASD access
4. Issue DASD space for development, UAT and production requirements
5. Process space requirement for SMS and non-SMS requests both UAT/PROD
6. Review production files with excessive extent growth and VSAM files nearly to reach the 4GB limit
7. Maintain Storage Management System (SMS) routines definitions
8. Monitor space availability of production DASD storage space
9. Ensure DASD mirroring of all production files and mirroring facility (SRDF) are synchronized at all times for both production LPARs
10. Maintain non-system USERCATALOGs
11. Assist / coordinate UAT and production in conducting permanent solutions of reported batch problems related to DASD space
12. Coordinate users of aged datasets for deletion to free up DASD space
13. Monitor production files for excessive extent growth to avoid batch process problems.
14. Execute monthly jobs for DASD inventory reports.
15. Perform other duties that maybe assigned by the superiors
Qualification Guide
Education (minimum / preferred undergraduate / graduate / postgraduate course)
College Degree at least 4 year course
Completed ISI Training Course
Experience (minimum / preferred actual work experience)
Basic PC Operations
Basic Mainframe Operations
